About Joe Bridgwood
Joe Bridgwood is an American actor, singer/songwriter. By the time Joe began walking, it was apparent that the arts would play a big role. Inspired early in life by his father’s capabilities as a singer along with the vast collection of music spanning the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, Joe would constantly listen and play along to the beats of every song in the rock genre. By the time Joe was 8 years old, he knew every Rolling Stones album. By this time, Joe had already found a love for drawing and painting as well as the ability to play multiple instruments.
While going to college to pursue a career in Art, Joe took up acting and was cast in a couple of different College productions. At the age of 17, Joe formed his first band and started as the drummer/ back up singer. It wasn’t too long before it was decided by his bandmates to put Joe up front on lead vocals. Joe decided to hone his vocal capabilities under the coaching of legendary vocal coach, Katie Agresta. In 2002, the band, Wired was formed. By 2004, the band had recorded songs and released their first 5 song EP produced by Tomas Costanza. The first track, “Every Little Thing” was declared the most requested song on WLIR radio and was already getting a ton of recognition among executives in the music industry. The band went on to record more songs and submitted tracks through TAXI (The world’s leading Independent A&R Company) and were declared the best unsigned band/artist of the year, winning the coveted President’s Choice Award.
In 2005, “Wired” was signed to Gotham Records / Sony/Red and released the album, “Your First Time” nationally and toured the country sharing the stage with many acts along the way including, Cartel, Joan Jett, Boys Like Girls, Diffuser, Bayside, Wheatus, Patent Pending, Ashley Parker Angel, and Punchline. Joe has many credits with his band for having various songs in T.V. and movie placement including ESPN’s Baseball Tonight, movies such as “Malibu Spring Break”, and the 2008 movie, “Foreign Exchange”. Joe Bridgwood has experienced playing in many arenas and festivals including the Van’s Warped Tour and the 2011 Bamboozle in the new meadowlands. However, when asked, the most fun Joe has ever had playing was SXSW in Austin, TX in both 2006 and 2007. In 2009, Wired released the album, “The Morning After” which is available on all digital platforms as well as Your First Time.
Joe started to draw attention from various areas in the film and TV industry. In 2004, while promoting for a local show in NYC, Joe caught the eye of TV and film director, Alan Carter and was asked to audition in the adjacent building for a VH1 Series titled, "In Search of the Partridge Family". After singing a couple of songs, Joe was called back and was one of the few remaining finalists to be cast in the series. Although not cast, Joe was inspired to take on a new challenge and study acting. In between writing songs, making music videos, and touring with Wired, (along with teaching Fine Art, and finishing school), Joe appeared as a guest host for a series titled, "Emerging Artists USA", and later, was invited by MTV network to appear on an episode of MTV Summer Wraps with Lenay Dunn. Since then, Joe has been involved in many projects as a writer, actor, and singer/songwriter. Joe Bridgwood played a Caricature Artist in the feature film, "Wonderstruck" directed by Todd Haynes, was cast as an abusive boyfriend in the music video, "Sister Cities" by the band, The Wonder Years. Since then, Joe has appeared in the series, "You" and is currently working on a series of short films with creative partner, Emily Blake Anderson. During the pandemic, they released a short film with a 50 minute run time titled, "How to Find Love in a Pandemic." Joe has co written, co produced, co directed and stars in this film along with his creative partner. Since the release, Joe and Emily formed Epic Jelly Films and are poised to leave their mark in the film industry.
